Snoozing & Dismissing Reminders
Manage reminders that aren't ready for action yet
Snoozing & Dismissing Reminders
Not every reminder comes at the perfect moment. Coherence makes it easy to snooze reminders until you're ready or dismiss them entirely.
Snoozing Reminders
When a reminder fires and you're not ready to act, snooze it to a better time.
Snooze Presets
Click the snooze button on any reminder notification to see quick options:
| Option | Snooze Until |
|---|---|
| Later today | 3:00 PM (or 2 hours if after 1pm) |
| Tomorrow morning | Tomorrow 8:00 AM |
| Tomorrow afternoon | Tomorrow 2:00 PM |
| This weekend | Saturday 9:00 AM |
| Next week | Monday 8:00 AM |
| Pick date & time | Any custom time |

- Snooze again to a different time
- Dismiss them entirely
Dismissing Reminders
When a reminder is no longer needed, dismiss it to remove it permanently.
When to Dismiss
- ✅ The task has been completed
- ✅ The reminder is no longer relevant
- ✅ You're handling it now (no need to be reminded later)
How to Dismiss
Click "Dismiss" on any reminder notification or from the Reminders page actions menu.
Dismissed reminders cannot be recovered. If you might need the reminder later, snooze it instead.
Reminder States
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Waiting to trigger |
| Snoozed | Temporarily delayed |
| Sent | Triggered and delivered |
| Dismissed | Manually cancelled |
| Completed | Triggered (for recurring, moves to next occurrence) |
Recurring Reminders
For recurring reminders, snooze and dismiss work slightly differently:
Snooze
Snoozing a recurring reminder only delays the current occurrence. The next occurrence will fire on schedule.
Dismiss
Dismissing the current occurrence doesn't cancel future occurrences. To stop all future reminders, you need to delete the reminder entirely.
Delete vs Dismiss
| Action | Current | Future |
|---|---|---|
| Dismiss | Cancelled | Continue |
| Delete | Cancelled | Cancelled |
Tips for Managing Reminders
Don't Let Them Pile Up
Review your snoozed reminders regularly. If you keep snoozing the same reminder, consider:
- Is this actually important?
- Should the due date change?
- Is there a blocker that needs addressing first?
Use Appropriate Snooze Times
- Later today: You'll get to it, just not right now
- Tomorrow: Need a full night to think about it
- Next week: Waiting on external dependencies
Batch Process on the Reminders Page
Visit the Reminders page periodically to:
- Review all pending reminders
- Dismiss anything that's been handled
- Adjust timing for upcoming reminders
