Module Templates

Templates give you a head start with pre-configured modules for common use cases. Start with a template and customize it for your needs.

Using Templates

Browsing Templates

  1. Go to Settings > Modules
  2. Click Create Module
  3. Select Start from Template
  4. Browse the template library

Template Preview

Before installing, preview:

  • Fields included
  • Default views
  • Sample data (optional)
  • Recommended automations

Installing a Template

  1. Select a template
  2. Review the configuration
  3. Customize the name if needed
  4. Click Create Module

The module is created with all template settings applied.

Templates create new modules - they don't modify existing ones. You can safely experiment.

Custom Templates

Create templates from your own modules:

  1. Configure a module perfectly
  2. Click Save as Template
  3. Add description and tags
  4. Share with your team or keep private

Template Customization

After Installation

Templates are fully editable after installation:

  • Add or remove fields
  • Modify views
  • Change automations
  • Adjust permissions

Renaming

Change the module name to match your terminology:

  • "Deals" → "Opportunities"
  • "Projects" → "Initiatives"
  • "Tasks" → "Action Items"

Removing Unused Fields

Templates include common fields. Remove any you don't need:

  1. Go to module settings
  2. Click on unused field
  3. Select Delete Field

Template Best Practices

Start Simple

Begin with a template and remove complexity:

  • Delete fields you don't need
  • Hide views you won't use
  • Simplify before adding

Customize Field Options

Adjust picklist values to match your process:

  • Change status options
  • Update stage names
  • Add your categories

Connect to Existing Modules

After installing, link to your other data:

  • Add reference fields to related modules

Creating Templates

From Existing Module

Turn your configured module into a reusable template:

  1. Configure the module completely
  2. Create useful views
  3. Set up automations
  4. Go to Settings > Save as Template
