Create records, update data, and navigate using natural language

Taking Actions

Copilot isn't just for viewing data - it can take action on your behalf. Create records, update fields, navigate to pages, and more.

Creating Records

Single Records

Create a new record with or without details:

Create a new task

This opens the create form for you to fill in.

Or provide the details upfront:

Create a task called "Review quarterly report" due Friday

Copilot creates the record immediately and shows you a link to it.

Multiple Records

Need to create several records at once? Just ask:

Create 5 sample tasks for onboarding a new client

Copilot will:

  1. Generate appropriate names and details
  2. Create all records
  3. Show you a clickable list of everything created
Bulk record creation in Copilot
Creating multiple records at once with clickable links to each

Bulk creation is perfect for setting up templates, sample data, or repetitive items like project phases.

Updating Records

Modify records by referencing them:

Mark task #3 as complete
Update the deal "Acme Corp" to stage "Won"

After viewing records with a query, you can reference them by number (#1, #2, etc.).

Bulk Updates

Update multiple records at once:

Set all overdue tasks to high priority

Copilot will confirm how many records were updated.

Jump to any page in the app:

Take me to deals
Go to my inbox
Open settings

Copilot renders a NavigationCard you can click, then navigates automatically.

Record Detail Pages

Navigate directly to a specific record:

Open the deal "Enterprise Contract"

Action Summary

Here's what Copilot can do:

ActionExample

Update field"Change status to 'In Progress'"
Bulk update"Mark all overdue tasks as urgent"
Navigate"Go to the dashboard"
Open record"Open task 'Weekly review'"
Open form"Add a new company"

How Actions Work

When you ask Copilot to do something:

  1. Validates the request (checks the module/field exists)
  2. Confirms destructive actions (like bulk deletes)
  3. Executes the action against your real data
  4. Reports what happened with links to affected records

Actions modify real data! Copilot will ask for confirmation before bulk updates affecting many records.

Confirmation Prompts

For safety, Copilot confirms before:

  • Updating more than 5 records at once
  • Deleting records
  • Making irreversible changes

You can say "yes" or "go ahead" to confirm, or "cancel" to abort.

Chaining Actions

Combine queries and actions in one conversation:

  1. "Show me overdue tasks"
  2. "Update #1 and #3 to extend due date by one week"
  3. "Show the updated tasks"

Using with Keyboard

  2. Type your command
  3. Press Enter
  4. Click the result card to navigate
