Adding Comments
On Records
Add comments to any record to share context with your team:
- Open the record
- Scroll to the activity section
- Type your comment in the text box
- Click Post or press

Comments support:
- Rich text - Bold, italic, lists, and links
- Attachments - Drag and drop files
- Emoji reactions - Quick acknowledgments
- Threading - Reply to specific comments
@Mentions
Mentioning Team Members
Type @ followed by a name to mention someone:
@Sarah Can you review this deal before the meeting?
When you mention someone:
- They receive a notification
- The comment is highlighted for them
- They can click to jump directly to the comment
Mentioning Records
Link to other records with #:
This relates to #Deal-2024-0156 - same customer
Smart Suggestions
As you type, Coherence suggests:
- Recent team members you've mentioned
- People assigned to the record
- Team members who've commented recently
Use mentions liberally! They're the best way to get someone's attention without leaving Coherence.
Notifications
Comment Notifications
You receive notifications when:
- Someone mentions you with @
- Someone replies to your comment
- Someone comments on a record you own
- Someone comments on a record you're watching
Notification Settings
Customize your preferences:
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Choose notification channels (in-app, email, Slack)
- Set frequency (instant, digest, or off)
Notification Center
Access all notifications from the bell icon:
- See unread notifications
- Mark as read
- Jump to the relevant record

Replying to Comments
Click Reply on any comment to start a thread:
Sarah: @Mike Can you send the latest proposal?
└─ Mike: Just sent it! Let me know if you need changes.
└─ Sarah: Perfect, thanks!

- Makes context easier to follow
Reactions
Quick Acknowledgments
React to comments without adding more messages:
- 👍 Thumbs up - Agreement or acknowledgment
- ✅ Check - Task completed
- 👀 Eyes - I'll look at this
- 🎉 Celebration - Great news!
When to React vs Comment
React when:
- Simple acknowledgment is enough
- You don't have anything to add
- A thumbs up says it all
Comment when:
- You have questions or context to add
- Action is required
- The topic needs discussion

Include Context

Use for Decisions
Document decisions in comments for future reference:
Decision: We're going with Option B (monthly billing).
@Finance please update the invoice schedule.
